//TRIGGER WARNING- Suicide and Self Harm

"Thoughts could leave scars deeper than almost anything else."

Today, in the 21st century, innumerable factors play on every young mind's head and drive them to suicide. The mental health of teenagers worsens day by day because they find themselves engulfed in insecurities. They want to unburden themselves of the life they're living. Every blade and each pointed object seems like a source of freedom.

They think every breakdown is the last, but then tell themselves this at least twelve times a day.

The national institute of health has considered BPD or Borderline Personality Disorder to be the most difficult mental disorder to cure. It is a severe disease marked by patterns of instability in moods, behaviour, self-image, and functioning. Up to 6% of the Indian population suffers from BPD, and two hundred and sixty-four million people across the globe suffer from depression.

To clarify, strong mental health isn't just the absence of mental health problems. Being mentally or emotionally healthy is much more than being free of depression or anxiety. Rather than the absence of mental illness, mental health refers to the presence of positive characteristics.

Sometimes, solely venting to someone doesn't solve the problem. Telling someone who is going through emotional hardships that everything will be alright, doesn't work. Anyone who wishes to unchain themselves and take their life should always think of their loved ones and focus on ridding themselves of the obstacles they face. As sympathizers, we should also be vigilant around a person who has had a history of mental disorders because even unintentionally, we may trigger the person. By bringing some positivity into one's life, we can make an enormous change for someone.

"Mental health is not a destination, it's a process. It's about where you drive, not where you're going."

~ Aashree Jain and Ria Devika Bhasin
